Sea Adventures

Discover scuba diving

(Resort Course) Experience how it feels to breathe underwater.

Your PADI instructor will explain the basics of diving to you before you head into the pool to learn some new and exciting skills. Afterwards you go out on the boat and make a dive with your instructor, in one of the most beautiful oceans in the world, the Caribbean.

Open water dive certification

Your official entry ticket into the world of diving.

A PADI Open Water Dive is recognized worldwide, so you can dive any time, any place, anywhere. Your course consists of a healthy dose of theory; one or more dives to hone your newly learned skills and 4 actual boat dives divided over two days, on the reefs around Placencia.

Advanced open water dive

The next step toward becoming a divemaster.

Do 5 dives while gaining more confidence underwater and expanding your diving knowledge. All of this in the rarely-dived southern part of the Belize barrier reef. We will do a deep dive and a navigation dive, but beyond that, almost anything goes. drift, naturalist, computer assisted, multi-level, buoyancy control, we can do it!

Snorkeling/Fishing

Leaves from the lagoon side dock at 8:30 for an adventurous day of snorkeling and fishing. This fun filled day starts with dropping a line for the catch of the day, then snorkeling the waters off one of the cayes in the Caribbean. Lunch is served, then more fishing and snorkeling! Trip returns around 4:00PM (Minimum of 4 people).

We leave at 9:00 from the lagoon side for the exciting blue waters of the reef and cayes. The snorkelers and guide will explore from one of the island beaches while the divers embark on the first of their two dives. Snorkelers and divers lunch together on the beach with box lunches provided from our kitchen. Our captain and dive masters are PADI certified and very experienced in these waters. The boat is designed for convenience and safety. Return about 3:30.

Fishing inshore or offshore

Drop a line in the rich Caribbean waters.

Drop a line in the rich Caribbean waters. Troll inside the reef for snapper, barracuda, jack, and yellow tail or fly fish the flats for bone fish or permit. Deep sea fishing outside the reef can be arranged as well for an all day adventure! There’s great fishing in the lagoon too. Serious fishermen bring their own gear but local equipment is available.

Day Sailing

Leaves from Roberts Grove marina(shuttle included) at 3:30 PM for an afternoon sail to watch the beautiful sunset over the Maya Mountains. Snacks and cocktails are included. Returns at 6:00 PM.

Land Adventures

Monkey River

At 8:00am, you begin with an exciting 12 mile boat ride through the lagoon at Monkey River. As your guide moves the boat up river you’ll see iguana, birds and perhaps a manatee or crocodile. Now hike the jungle trails in search of Howler Monkeys and other rain forest residents. Lunch at Monkey River Town and meet some of the interesting locals of this isolated community. Return about 2 PM.

Jaguar reserve

Leaves at 7:30-8:00 AM. It’s only 25 miles by road to the Cockscomb Basin, the world’s only Jaguar reserve. The visitor’s center houses interesting exhibits of the rain forest inhabitants but you’ll see them up close and personal. Your guide leads your through jungle trails and points out birds, plants, and animals along the way. After lunch, you’ll swim under a waterfall to cool down before the drive back. You may have time to stop at a working banana plantation. Return about 4 PM

Maya ruins & Blue Creek Cave

Travel to Toledo District at 7:30 AM for a look at one of the southern Mayan Ruins. Then continue on the Maya Village of Blue Creek and hike the Blue Creek Cave where you’ll put on a miner’s light and a life jacket to enter the cave through the water. Spectacular and exciting but not just for the fit and adventurous.

Xunantunich ruins & Blue Hole National Park

Departs at 7:15AM and returns at 6:00PM. Enjoy a scenic ride up Hummingbird Highway to Blue Hole National Park, home of the cathedral-like dry caves. After lunch feel the aura of one of Belize’s largest Mayan sites. Climb the 130 foot El Castillo for a breath-taking panoramic view!

Jungle Tours & Treks

The ride to San Ignacio starts early 5:30 AM, one Full day in the pristine jungle with local bushmen guides. Learn many of the secrets that the jungle holds: natural medicines, herbs, barks and many plants that are still used today by natural healers throughout Central America. Ancient ruins, burial sites and altars lurks below the shadows, hidden by time, as you trek through areas few have ever seen. Explore Blue Hole River as it surges from below a 250ft cliff and take the opportunity for a refreshing dip in its aqua blue waters.

Bird Watching

These birding treks occurs early in the morning, our guide will pick you up at 5:00AM, as this is a time when most bird species are feeding or are moving to new locations, making it ideal for viewing. As the night sky lightens and the jungle comes to life, you’ll start your walk down 1km drive that shares three different and distinctive birding habitats.

Horseback Riding

Spend time horseback riding with John Carr of the Banana Bank Equestrian Center. The center boasts about 50 well-kept mixed breed horses, predominantly quarter horses. The combination provides study but agile mounts necessary to negotiate river terrain and jungle trails. Ride alone jungle trails, tropical rivers and Mayan ruins and enjoy the friendly people and exotic surroundings.

Zip Line

Zip lining is as close as you can get to flying over the jungle. As you soar from tree to tree, experience a bird’s-eye view of the Belize jungle, and scenery that cannot be seen from the ground. You will be securely fastened to a harness that is attached to a cable. You push off from a platform up in a tree and zip along the cable to another platform. If you’re not comfortable with heights don’t look down!!

Golf cart rentals

Enjoy a relaxing trip through the peninsula on a golf cart. Our gas 4 seaters are reliable, easy to drive, easy on fuel and fun! We can rent by the hour, ½ day, full day, week or long term. Contact us for pricing or to make a reservation.

Kayak rentals


Whether you want to paddle through the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean or wind your way along the mangroves viewing the wildlife of the Placencia lagoon, we offer a kayak model to suit your needs.

We have traditional cockpit style or try our clear bottom kayaks for viewing marine life. It’s like snorkeling without getting wet! We will deliver kayak to your Anchor Realty cottage or to other rental property after your arrival. We also are retailers of kayaks and accessories. Cell phones

You don’t need an expensive additional international plan for your cell phone just to make local calls while in Belize. Anchor Realty has cell phones available, preloaded with minutes and pre-programmed with numbers for our office and staff cell phones, taxis, restaurants and Roberts Grove dive shop. Only $10BZ per day along with minutes used. Security deposit required. Please contact us for to reserve.

 

Private Chef Service

Indulge in the ultimate treat by having a private chef on the premises to prepare your meals for you and your family or guests.

The chef can provide service for only one meal per day, or be available to prepare all meals, snacks, and beverages. Inquire about this service and we will gladly customize for your stay.
